Radio Failed

CarComplaints.com Notes: Except for a minor issue with cracked motor mounts, the 2008 MAZDA3 is a fantastic vehicle with a great reputation.

If you need to replace the motor mounts, first ask your dealer if they'll cover it -- the motor mounts were dealt with in a TSB & were recalled for some model years. Otherwise buy aftermarket motor mounts -- owners report this solves the problem. If you use the same OEM parts, they may just crack again.

Out of nowhere, the radio half failed. "Half" means all of the buttons on the left-hand-side of the radio ceased to function. This unfortunately included the power button.

Aftermarket replacements were out of the question. The trip computer, clock, and A/C controls are all wired through the radio. (Which is too bad, I really could've used an upgrade, since the factory sound is TERRIBLE.) Also, there are no adapters to make the factory steering wheel controls work with aftermarket units.

$800 repair - Mazda covered 50% under goodwill.
