This car was black everywhere. I really dislike black. It is hard to see. It is a campflounge color and is the reason why the military uses it, like on the Stealth fighter plane. As a photographer, black is also really hard to photograph.

And then these Mazda designers, who apparently do not understand the basics of what I just educated you about, but rather go with the current fad of 'black is hip now', uses a completely ugly everything black interior (as if the overwhelming black exterior was not already too much) while literally providing no contrast to aid user friendliness.

Black buttons with a surrounding black interior does not contrast what I need to quickly find and select. And then the door lock button is further complicated by the fact it is very small (and literally cannot see the lock/unlock icons) and congested side by side with some other little button. And at night, even though the parking lot is lit but certainly is not overflowing with light, the door lock button cannot be seen. Better have a flashlight in your pocket.

They could do better with the cruise control selection buttons. The cruise control, engine and transmission worked fine and they are the best components I will say about this car.

Absolutely no practical friendly user functions in this 2016 Mazda 6 full size car. I definitely would not buy one or recommend anyone buy this model. I hope my car rental agent does not give me another Mazda ever.

Mazda could learn a lot, in all regards, from a Suburu Impreza, even though it as a mid size car.
