My vehicle lost the ability to accelerate while I was driving on the highway on Wednesday. The car started to shake a bit and when the accelerator was pressed to the floor, the speed decreased to about 30mph and the engine sounded like an airplane taking off. The car eventually regained its ability to accelerate until I got off on the exit near my house and that is when the car lost acceleration again in the midst of oncoming traffic. This problem has occurred several times since I've had this car and each time I call the dealership they claim to not have heard of this ever happening. It even happened on a trip from tn to SC. This is a serious problem and is extremely dangerous when driving in heavy traffic on the interstate and congested city streets. I am nervous about taking the car on trips longer than 30-45 minutes long. There is also an issue where the TPMS light comes on and stays on for days. When I have it checked out, I'm usually told that the air pressure is good and that the light is just malfunctioning. The local Nissan dealership denies having knowledge of this issue also and they want me to pay a ton of money for them to check it out.

Over a period of about 2 years, I would have acceleration problems both while on the highway, hills or after coming to a complete stop. At first it was annoying and a few second long problem but it got progressively worse and more dangerous. I had at least 3-4 times while traveling on highway where I completely lost the ability to accelerate even to pull off to a safe location. It was like a stall happened. It has happened while turning into traffic to make simple turns as well as leaving traffic lights. In November, I replaced my transmission but I believe Nissan is well aware of these problems and are putting consumers at great risk. Even after the replacement of my transmission (after hearing Nissan extended the warranty to 120,000 miles) I still had problems with acceleration. Now 6 months later I have started to have what I consider dangerous effects. There is as much as a 5 second delay between hitting the accelerator and the engine engaging to meet the transmission. I had my children in the car today and both on the street and highway I am losing the ability to pick up speed even while on the highway. I won't allow my other family members to drive my car and plant otake it Nissan this week. I do ask that the ntsb or the Agency address these concerns with Nissan. I know they are rampant with the cars with cvt transmissions. I believe I am in danger in this vehicle and I fully believe Nissan is aware of it.

Car loses power without warning, on highway going 80, all of sudden total lost of power on any incline. Dangerous to myself and others around me. Coming off highway hesitates, appears to not move at all. Eventually car is moving approx. 20 mph, extremely dangerous for highway. Not specific to my vehicle only, on going problem with this vehicle, should have a recall.

For the past few weeks, my gas gauge has been reading incorrectly and when I would go to fill out the vehicle, it would never show completely full. In some cases, I would turn on the vehicle and it would read sufficiently less than what was in the tank and then climb back up to what I assume was the correct level. My last fill up, the gauge read 3 bars left of fuel and I pumped 14.5 gallons of gas at the station which is exactly my gas tank size. I then looked online and discovered several other people with the same make, model, and year and other models were having the same issue but no good fixes appear to have been found.

Was returning from trip North Carolina back home to Tennessee once about hour away felt car just start slowing down car wouldn't accelerate when pushing on gas. Was able to get to right hand lane and get off interstate just before car went to a crawl. Car was making whining noise while trying to move car from highway. Car came to stop and unable to move again. Had car towed back to my house sent to shop to find out that transmission had malfunctioned. Doing research on transmission found out the Nissan rouge is using cvt transmission and that Nissan extended the warranty to 120K or 10 years. My research also found out that other Nissan owners of Rogue and muranos were having issues with cvt transmission. When I found out that about the warranty I called Nissan consumer care to inquire about this. I was told my model and make qualified under warranty and that mileage didn't matter. Nissan decided not to assist me with repair and replacement of transmission. I tried to tell Nissan about letter that stated they would decrease cost even above 120K. They refused to do so. I had no warning sensors that there was problem with transmission. This could have been a bad accident if the transmission had of went out during heavy traffic. It appears reading about other owners experiences with cvt transmissions that Nissan doesn't want to own up to having a faulty transmission. Even speaking with mechanics from outside and with Nissan that this transmission is faulty and many have issues and complainants about it.

The fuel gauge does not read the correct amount of fuel the car has / the car has less gas than it shows.I have been to the Nissan dealer five times and they have not been able to fix the problem - they have changed the fuel pump and fuel gauge twice. I have reported to Nissan corporate and they advised there are no recalls on this issue for this model. There are many complaints online about this problem.

I filled me vehicle up on Monday of this week, and the gas gauge never went above a 1/4 of a tank. When I was driving to work my car ran out of gas and I had no idea because it had been showing on E all week, but I knew it had gas. Since I purchased the car in October, it has never actually gone all the way to full no matter how much I fill it up. I look online and all I'm seeing is this is a hugely known issue with Nissan's. it caused me lost work and I will now have to pay $600+ to get this fixed, when if they got it resolved there wouldn't be hundreds of people online complaining about the same issue, no matter the age of the vehicle.

Problems with the gas gauge ready 1/2 to 1/4 empty when the tank is full. It's my understanding that there are reported problems with a faulty fuel sending module or modules or perhaps the fuel pump. I see this problem all over the internet and no recall has been submitted for the Nissan Rogue. I also understand that the Nissan pathfinder has the same problem with a recall. To my understanding the only difference between the Nissan fuel part is that the pathfinder part number is different then the Nissan but the faulty part is the same. Also problems with tire pressure monitor panel light stays on even when tire pressure is correct.

When I go to fill up my gas tank I will let it run until it stops at the pump then pump in a little more to get it to an even dollar amount, I will then get in the car and the gas gauge does not show full. For some reason the first "tick" on the gas gauge will never come on no matter how much gas you put in the car. As for the whether or not the rest of it is accurate I am not quite sure. I try to keep a decent amount of gas in the tank because I question its accuracy.

The car experienced extreme deceleration on the highway. I was unable to accelerate in a minimum 45 mile per hour highway (in puerto rico) when car decelerated and was unable to go more than 5 miles per hour after decelerating for a toll. As I changed lanes to get to the shoulder, I almost caused what could have been a fatal accident of myself and my infant daughter. I pulled over to the shoulder and shut the car off. I was in the middle of the island and could not afford a tow truck. I waited for two hours and tried starting the car again to see if I could continue. The car seemed back to normal and I made it home. The extreme acceleration has happened to me 2 other times and I cannot afford another vehicle. I recently researched this issue and there is a wide array of people having similar issues and similar experiences and close calls with vehicular accidents. Since the first incident, the car now has 130K miles and does not qualify for the extended warranty. I am an active duty member stationed overseas in puerto rico and did not receive notification that a warranty was extended. Please help me effect a Nissan recall in cvt engines in the select models mentioned in their Consumer Affairs website. Thank you for your time.

On multiple occasions while driving on freeway or around town Rogue would not accelerate properly from stop. Pedal would be pressed down but car would barely inch forward. Also, twice as I was just driving home from work this symptom started and the car just stopped running altogether. Had the vehicle towed to my mechanic and he told me I had ran out of gas both times. I know the gage read 1/4 tank both times. The acceleration issues always seem to begin when the gas is getting below half empty. It seems to be the same fuel sender issue others have complained about, and maybe it also somehow affects how the transmission performs. Either way my family and I have only owned this Rogue for a year and it was supposed to be our newer reliable car. Very unhappy. Contacted the dealer but they would not even look at it before charging me and said they have never had any problems with their Rogues. Obviously they are turning a blind eye.

Fuel sending unit is faulty. Cannot get any idea of fuel level in the vehicle. Only 45000 miles on the car. Nissan has recalled this for the frontier and pathfinder, so it is a known issue with their vehicles, but the deal is charging ~$500 to fix it.
