Sentra 4-door 1.8L

  • Automatic transmission

This car has had excellent service, last year the head gasket was replaced and now we have noticed the excessive oil consumption for approximately the last 6 months. We just took it to the dealership and were told it needed a new engine ($3500/min), but the mechanic advised to just wipe off the black soot off the back of the car and put in 'honey oil' - you know, the kind my 12th grade auto mechanics teacher advised to use only if you want to mask the real problem - and that is only a temporary fix that actually makes the engine wear faster. SHAME ON YOU NISSAN... we will never get another Nissan. All Nissan owners should make their stories heard, and the media should report this as well. This car has the 1.8 Liter engine BTW. I've heard similar stories about the 2.5 Liter engine and other Nissan products.

Sentra Specv 2.5L

  • Manual transmission

i bought a used car with high mileage, but did purchase an additional 100000 mile warranty. found out my car has precat failure which means part of the first converter has been sucked back into the motor. this has scored cylinder walls and damaged all internals. the car uses a qt of oil per tank of gas and the warranty company has refused to cover damage since it is powertrain only and does not included "due to exhaust" i wouldnt of known the car had this problem as dealers don't let you test drive a used car for 700 miles. please see thenissanfight.com if you have this problem too.
