I was driving on the highway at 65mph when I heard the ringing sound on my dashboard indicating power steering. The steering was blocked. Because it was on a straight road I was able to pull over by the road side. I turned off the engine and restarted the car. I am having to do this everyday when the power steering light turns on. When the power steering light is on the steering is blocked, I cant turn the car. From December 20 2014 till this day, this occurs about 4 to 5 times a day with my car.

While driving 2 chimes sounded and power steering suddenly went out. Was able to drive home, about 15 miles, without power steering and once engine was turned off and back on power steering resumed. It seems the 2006 and 2008 models of this vehicle were recalled for similar complaints but not the 2007 which I own.

The first day it got below 40 degrees outside I noticed the power steering felt like it needed fluid by the time I got my son to school 20 min later I had no power steering that's when I realized that it was electric power steering I checked all the fuses and did some research and found that alot of the 07 G6S has this problem I keep waiting on a recall because I cant afford to have the steering column replaced. Replacement costs between $700 and $1200. I am still driving the car with no power steering.

The power steering light was blinking on the console off and on since I bought the car (March 2013). The power steering would shake, make clicking noises (I had repeatedly called the place I bought the car at and they said since the car was bought used and they are not a service station it was not their problem). The power steering went completely out. I had to turn off the car to get it to reset. The power steering has been going out off and on since Jan. 2014. I saw on the news that GM was recalling power steering for the G6S but only on some not all. If you investigate online..this is a huge issue with all models of Pontiac G6. I called GM at the time of the recall and they said that if my car was included in the recall I would receive a notice. Well I haven't received that notice to date and this is definitely a problem since this car is doing the exact same thing that the recall states for the other years...this problem is definitely affecting the 2007 G6 as well as all of the other years. Its completely unsafe to drive these vehicles on the road!

Problems: Power steering randomly stops working, steering wheel will shake. When first starting car radio screen reads "power steering". no power steering, often turning car off then back on temporarily fixes issue, but it soon returns. Yesterday morning I was driving the 2007 Pontiac G6 and the power steering stopped working and caused to go off the road. After getting it toed home power steering is completely gone. I have already contacted GM (yesterday) and they informed me that even though it was displaying the exact same symptoms of a faulting steering column from similar vehicles recalled ( 2005, 6 8 and 9 Pontiac G6S) it was not covered under the recall so I would have to pay out of pocket. I went online and found hundreds of complaints about 2007 G6 steering columns problems but they had the same problem.

I have been feeling very bad shaking in steering wheel lately. Took to have an alignment done and there is now a little less shaking but still shakes. Wheel is actually feeling really lose which to my past experience is when the steering issue starts because its like it gets really loose before it locks up on you. Well anyway yesterday while driving the power steering light came on. When I checked online regarding what can be wrong seen a recall but called GM, the dealer and the dorman mfr and all 3 said my car was not one involved in the recall. However I like others have heard a noise in my car since I got it at about 92000 miles on it. Although no incident, I am very nervous since I do drive a lot and feel as though something is wrong and can happen at any time. GM called the dealer so that I can get a diagnosis and since I can't drop it off because I have no other way to leave and come back when they are done they said they can't get me in to diagnose it until Dec 31 which for what is feeling wrong with the car is not very good since it is only Dec 8, anything can happen between now and Dec 31. Hopefully with enough people having issues they will get their crap together. I feel as though after so many recalls and issues with specific models there should just be compensation to assist with getting another car instead of keep throwing us out there and risking lives. This to me is too many safety issues. I just got done having 2 recalls done on my car a few months ago which took forever to finally be recalled. By the time the recalls are being placed my car is on its last limb with that specific issue.

Was turning car to the left when the steering felt as if it was giving resistance. Turning right was fine at that point. Upon turning into a parking lot, power steering went out completely almost making me hit another vehicle. Was able to drive car to a GM dealership. Going to get looked at on mon. No warning beforehand. No chimes, lights, etc. Could've hurt myself or someone else. Read online about multiple G6 owners like myself where the steering goes out. The car has hydraulic power steering. No loss of fluid as I can tell. Makes me leery about driving this car. Needs recalled.

My Pontiac G6 has had a terrible "clunking" sound when turning. It has been going on for quite awhile. When I have had it serviced, I have been told that it is in the steering column. They said it shouldn't be a safety feature just a terrible annoying noise. Is there any chance there could be a recall on this so this can get fixed at no charged? it is past it's warranty now.

The power steering goes out while I'm driving. The steering wheel gets hard to turn, I have to pull over shut my car off and hope that it goes back on when I turn the car back on. The steering wheel also shakes, and gets tough to turn. Then while driving just goes out. It also doesn't throw any kind of code so I never know if it when it will go out. I'm 9 months pregnant I have put in multiple complaints with you guys, plus GM. This is a serious safety hazard and if I do get into some kind of accident it will be a huge lawsuit! this needs to be taken care of.

While driving on my way to school and my car began to start slowing down and it would not allow me to steer the steering wheel. In addition to that the pedals became less operable. I finally was able to pull over maybe 15 minutes from the college in which I was attending. As I was trying to gain control of the steering wheel the car went into the curb. Finally I was able to gain control of my car and it would not start once I pulled over and turned the car off. After that I waited a minute and attempted to start the car again and nothing happened. I had to miss class and call for help and then took my car to other mechanics.
