check engine light code: evap emission control sys. malfunction. I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. I AM TOLD THAT IT COULD BE THE CANISTER VENT PURGE SOLENOID IS STUCK. THE CAR JUST GOT SERVICED, FRESH OIL, AIR & FUEL FILTER. WHILE SERVICING WE UNHOOKED THE BATTERY TO CHANGE THE FUEL FILTER. WHEN WE HOOKED IT BACK UP, THE LIGHT WENT OUT. STAYED OUT FOR ABOUT 300 MILES AND NOW IT IS BACK ON. THE IDLE IS ERRATIC IN PARK, NEUTRAL OR DRIVE WITH FOOT ON THE BRAKE. IDLE WILL JUMP RPM'S FROM 600 TO 1300 AND THEN DROP BACK TO 600, HAVE NOT FOUND A VAC LEAK ANYWHERE. IT RUNS DOWN THE ROAD AS SMOOTH AND QUIET AS IT EVER DID BUT WHILE SITTING STILL IT IS RUNNING ROUGHER THAN NORMAL. I DON'T WANT TO START REPLACING THINGS THAT I DON'T NEED TO BUT THERE IS OBVIOUSLY SOMETHING WRONG AND I CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT.
