One thing the 2008 does share with the 2007 is a recall of a busted gear shifter cable which can make it look like your car is in park, when the transmission is still engaged. You can only imagine what kind of fun that causes.

Stop car, go to open front driver's door and... nothing. Door release does nothing. Roll window down and try to open from the outside... nothing. Second failure within four months.
If this happens, you're basically screwed. There's no fix except for replacing the assembly. Oh, and hope for a good mechanic who takes his time tearing apart your door - that can't open to get to the screws.
GM? Oh, that happens from time to time.
