CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2008 Aura’s issues with brakes, such as worn out rotors, isn’t as severe as the prior model year, but let’s just not start awarding them any brake awards just yet. Does that even exist? “The Brakies”?
One thing the 2008 does share with the 2007 is a recall of a busted gear shifter cable which can make it look like your car is in park, when the transmission is still engaged. You can only imagine what kind of fun that causes.

There is a small storage compartment in the dash to the left of the steering wheel, I assume, to store sunglasses or a wallet. It broke within days of taking receipt of the car. We didn't have time to take it back until another problem came up. Dropped by the dealership around 1045 on Monday and was told that several of the "push switches" which open and close the door had broken and it may be in stock, if not it could be ordered but not on Monday; bring it back at 7AM on Tuesday.
Did that and received a call at 4PM stating the part was ordered; pick up the car and bring it back on Friday.
