It needs a big money to fix. How come before 100,000 the transmission fails?

Corolla S 1.8L

  • Manual transmission
  • 195,000 miles

I have to go back and file another complaint as this transmission originally failed under warranty, 140000 miles ago and now here we are far out of warranty and it has failed again. As a matter of fact, I have to file another complaint as the charcoal canister also failed and had to be replaced as it kicked some codes so that it could not be reinspected. Oh, this was after the ECM failed and was replaced under warranty...

yes, you guessed it, it failed once it was out of its "one year warranty for replacement parts". Why didn't it get the original 8 year or 80000 mile warranty that emission parts get? Don't get me started on the FIVE wheel bearings. Our 2004 Toyota Corolla S transmission was on the verge of going (but out of warranty) when we traded it in for this POS. Then we made the phenomenal error of buying the oh-so-reliable 09 Corolla that has had three recalls on it already. NEVER AGAIN!

And please don't call me stupid, I call myself that everyday I get into either one of my Corollas. Give me back the Cavaliers, (please!!!!) my daughter's 02 is running strong and our 89 lasted til 04 when said daughter demanded we upgrade. HA! The buyer then ran it for several more years. Go GM! Go to ----- Toyota.

Corolla S

  • Manual transmission
  • 180,000 miles

I pd. 4000.00 to fix the transmission/clutch unit, the DEALER (DOXON in AUBURN WA) put in a used transmission and within 1000 miles the transmission went out again. They say i have no warranty, so basically i am out car since i do not work on them. I feel that after 4000.00 they would do something. so now i need to get rid of the car how much is a car with no transmission?
