Whenever there is high humidity outside, the radio buttons completely malfunction, regardless of what button is pushed, the radio will not work correctly. The radio will not operate correctly, or even stay on, or will be stuck on one station if it does work. Invariably the problem corrects itself when the humidity drops. Slamming the dash above the radio with an open hand has corrected the problem from time to time but not always.

My stereo stopped working a few months after buying my new 2009 Toyota Corolla. I bought the top of the line LE model thinking that it should be more quality work put in it. I was wrong. For the extra few thousands dollars paid for extra accessories, I got a piece of junk. The stereo will work for a few days, then all of a sudden will display some funny characters and does not matter what button I would push, my stereo will turn off. The Toyota dealership replaced my stereo under warranty and guess what, the new one has the same problem. I have alos bought the leather seats package with heated sets. The heated seats take 1 hour to heat up. I have complained several times to my dealership and they told me that there are no issues with my seat heaters. After one year, they finally acknowledged that there is a problem and they are going to replace them. Right after Toyota replaced my stereo, I started to have a noisy fan problem followed by a burnt wire smell. I am taking my car back in tomorrow. Complaining to Toyota Canada was of no use. they are not willing to do anything other than replaced the faulty parts under warranty with other faulty parts. I switch from Honda to Toyota because I had so many issues with my Civic. Now I have more problems with my Corolla. Next car will be German. No more Japanese cars. Never again.
