The trunk lid will not stay open no mater if you are on an incline or flat surface. On February 1st I reached into the trunk to grab the groceries and the trunk lid came down and the latch part hit me on the top of my head hard enough to give me a concussion. I went to Urgent Care, had to go for CT scan, went to specialist, and have been out of work now for two weeks and am out another two weeks and am in PT.
I see that there are others who have this same issue and can't believe that Toyota hasn't done anything about this. I went to an auto body place in my town and he said that the tension rods are fine in the car that they are not weak or worn out and that he had another customer come in last week same year same color style everything that complained of the same thing.
