Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that while driving 45 mph, the accessory belt broke in the engine. I have a Toyota Corolla 2010 which I bought in the first week of August 2009. While I was driving to sacramento around last August, my car lost power in the middle of a freeway. I was in the fast lane, and unable to operate the car. I realized that the engine was not there, it went off, no power and the car decreased its speed and finally stopped. Fortunately I was able to get out in the left emergence lane. If it was a rush hour and traffic was busy, I would have an accident. Fortunately, there was no accident. After thinking for 5 minutes or so, I turned on the engine and started driving again. Last week I went to Toyota dealer (for the recall) and told my situation. But they didn't give much attention to my concerns. I know come to realize that this may not be my problem and someone may have the same problem. I need help how this happen and if the problem occurs in other area, please prevent it happening again. So that we will save life.
