Just bought 2013 certified used Toyota Corolla 7/30/14 From a Toyota Dealership here in Colorado. Didn't notice rattle coming from passenger side door/dash until about 2 days afterwards, with the windows up. Noticed other complaints about passenger side rattles in Corollas online (of course after purchase), called Service at the Dealership and surprise! the certified warranty and the original warranty don't cover rattles, but of course the service department will be happy to take my money and time to look into it. I've been a loyal Toyota customer for 25 years. Time to reconsider.
Update from Aug 6, 2014: Update: same day, read through the certified used warranty: item no. 34 states "no abnormal squeaks/rattles within the interior of the vehicle", called service reconditioning manager with this info. and I should not be out of pocket for fixing the rattle. Although the rattle is yet to be fixed, am no longer in complaint about the integrity of the dealership (thank you Mountain States Toyota).
