Vehicle doesn't stop when you need it to. You keep a safe distance of 5 cars, start braking but the car is accelerating and then you have to stop in 3 car distance. It's freaky as this car isn't safe and the crash ratings show that I'll die when this causing me to rear end the wrong kind of vehicle (like a Semi)

This keeps hapening and you ask Toyota what is a method to track this to substantiate it; but no answer is given as they just state there's no issue. Just keep driving until the vehicle kills you. I had a 2003 Corolla that never had an issue but obviously something is wrong software wise or mechanically with the vehicle which just needs one time to make it fatal.

Toyota's response: "there's nothing wrong with the vehicle, let us know if this happens again"

So while I break it just takes one time where I have a safe stopping distance and someone cuts in front of me and the vehicle will then accelerate and then be life threatening depending on the situation.

I was an ardent fan of Toyota vehicles but ultimately the two biggest things with a vehicle for me are good brakes, and tires so I can stop. Ultimately a vehicle that's not stopping when I tell it to stop means it's a failure in my mind and ultimately my faith in Toyota is destroyed. I was an ardent fan but now regret buying Toyota vehicles. The fact that I have to place complaints on a site like this is a sad indication of this (multiple dealers, case managers all deflect and won't help).

Corolla S Plus 4 Cyclinder

I just got this car and I am not to happy about having to pull my e brake up or put it in neutral while driving, because when I step on the brakes to stop the car it first feels like jelly. I have to push all the way down, when in my opinion the brake should be tight. It is a new car. Also when I hit the brake, it does not stop instead it accelerates and revs the car forward more. I use this car everyday and it is the only one I have so I think that this problem should be looked into by Toyota. I have read other stories online about older model corollas having this issue and it is very dangerous. Since this has been an ongoing problem with Corollas I don't see why it wasn't fixed a while ago before they put out new ones.
