I needed to post this as not only has Toyota not inspected the car, but, the rental car company tried to completely contradict my statement on the accident. They continue to rent these vehicles out. I drove 4 hours on the interstate, got off to gas up and return the car, after I proceeded through an intersection, the car made a funny grinding noise. I looked at the shift to make sure it was in gear, it was, then it abruptly stopped with the engine still running and another vehicle slammed into the back of me.

I alerted Toyota to this immediately so they could check this vehicle. Nothing has been done. I fear it happening to someone while they are on a thruway at a higher rate of speed.
