Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

2006 Toyota RAV4 Owner Comments

RAV4 4-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 5,000 miles

This complaint involves the glass in the windshield of a 2006 Toyota Rav4. Briefly, the glass shattered in a manner that is uncharacteristic of safety glass leaving shards and slivers of glass throughout the vehicle from the impact of a rock from the highway. I believe the tempering process left this window defective and the potential for injuries, particularly to the eyes, of drivers or passengers is more than should be allowable.

Windshield for the Toyota rav 4 are cracking very easy. Mine has less than 3000 and I have already repaired it once and today it cracked again. The dot rating is not right dot 20. My Pontiac is 147 and has taken much bigger hits an no damage.
