My car is one of those with the excessive oil consumption problem. Well, not according to Toyota of course.
One of the problems related to the oil issue is a drop in gas mileage. My car used to get 26-27 MPG. Last year, I realized that it had dropped to 19 MPG. The dealer couldn't find anything wrong with it but I now know it's tied to the oil issue. I've posted another complaint about that-- I use 1 quart of oil every 1200 miles but Toyota thinks that is just fine and dandy.
I will never buy Toyota again. This is unacceptable. They have made a faulty engine so they have redefined acceptable parameters for oil usage. As a result, my car won't be fixed and the mileage will continue to worsen.
