Toyota fixed the problem. They paid 60% of the bill. The service manager told me they re-engineered that unit, so they knew they had a problem! I asked one of the mechanics I know if they replace many of these, he said yes. I researched to find why Toyota was having so many quality issues and I found an article stating that Toyota, in their rush to be number one, farmed out 20% of their engineering. The management in some factories were trained properly. The CEO of Toyota in japan said they lost control of their vendor quality! They were more interested in their market percentage. I thought that only happened here in the U.S. How disappointing. Now they have to lie and manipulate things to avoid ANOTHER RECALL!!!!!!! NO integrity! This will be my last Toyota, back to Mazda.
