Even though it is still under warranty, the dealership said that they were not authorized to fix the armrest. They gave me a number for Toyota to call, which I did. The woman at Toyota said that it should be covered if it is defective. If it's broken, then it is not covered. She told me to call the dealership service center back and talk to them to see if it was actually defective. She also said that Toyota might help out with the $899.00 cost to replace the armrest. I left a voicemail for the service adviser who handled my armrest appt. but have not heard back from her. I feel like I am getting the run around.
I guess that my Rav4's armrest is flimsy and was not designed to be leaned on. This is the first time this has happened on any of the vehicles that I have owned.
