CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 RAV4's top complaint is that the navigation screen is impossible to see in direct sunlight.

While certainly an annoyance, it's not a big deal in the world of car problems. Luckily the fix is a $10 anti-glare screen cover.

RAV4 Limited

  • Automatic transmission
  • 40,000 miles

Our Toyota Rav4 Limited was parked near a lake next to a golf cart path. The pavement was pretty much level with maybe a very slight down hill grade. The car was locked and in park. My husband was walking away from the car. When he was about 20 feet away, he heard what he thought was a golf cart. He turned to be sure he was not in the way of the cart when he saw our car rolling toward the lake. He was not able to stop the car before it rolled down a hill and into the lake. The car was totaled. Thank God there was no one fishing on the bank of the lake. We bought the car new in 2014 and have had no issues with it until this happened.

RAV4 LE 4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 32,000 miles

I notice that after I put my 2013 Rav4 into "Park" it has a tendency to move forward or backwards a few inches. Haven't experienced this in any other auto I have owned to the degree this car moves. I can understand a car that moves slightly backward when parked on an incline -- or forwards when facing a downhill decline, but not on level ground. Has me scratching my head why this car would be so sensitive to moving on fairly level ground. Could be dangerous under certain circumstances.
