BOUGHT THIS BRAND NEW BEAUTIFUL RAV4. DRIVING AROUND I HAD A ROCK HIT MY WINDSHIELD AND IT LEFT A DING IN THE WINDSHIELD. I’VE BEEN HIT BY MANY ROCKS OVER THE YEARS AND ONLY HAD ONE DING BY A BIG ROCK THAT CAME OUT OF A DUMP TRUCK. NOT LONG AFTER THE FIRST DING I HAD ANOTHER, THEN ANOTHER AND STILL ANOTHER. I WENT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE I MUST HAVE DEFECTIVE GLASS. THE SERVICE GUY SAID NO,MY GLASS WAS FINE, I JUST HAD BAD LUCK. I HAD THE GLASS DOCTOR FIX SIX DINGS. I CONTINUED DRIVING AND MY BAD LUCK CONTINUED. IT WAS TO THE POINT THAT I WAS ABOUT READY TO START NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE GLASS DOCTOR TO HAVE THE NEXT GROUP OF DINGS FILLED WHEN I TOOK A ROAD TRIP. ON MY WAY TO MY DESTINATION I GOT HIT AGAIN. LUCKY ME! AFTER I STOPPED I CHECKED AND I DID IN FACT HAVE A NEW DING. WHEN I CAME OUT TO LEAVE I HAD A REALLY NICE CRACK GROWING OUT OF MY NEW DING. LUCKY, LUCKY ME!

I HAVE SINCE CONTACTED TOYOTA, NOT THE DEALERSHIP. I TALKED TO A NICE GUY WHO LISTENED TO MY COMPLAINTS ABOUT HAVING DRIVEN A FOUR RUNNER FOR 14 YEARS AND I HAD JUST TRADED IN A 2009 RAV4 AND I HAD NEVER HAD ROCK DINGS, NOR HAD I EVER HAD A CRACKED WINDSHIELD. NOW I BUY A NEW RAV4 THAT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND I ALREADY HAVE TO PAY TO REPLACE MY WINDSHIELD. HE WAS VERY UNDERSTANDING, BUT IN THE END HE LOGGED MY COMPLAINT AND SENT A SERVICE TICKET TO MY LOCAL DEALER.

THE DEALER CALLED AND TOLD ME HE HAD LOOKED OVER THE INFORMATION, BUT THERE WASN’T ANYTHING HE COULD DO BECAUSE THERE WEREN’T ANY ISSUES WITH RAV4 WINDSHIELDS. HE HAD CHECKED HIS SOURCES AND COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING. I TOLD HIM I HAD BEEN IN THERE PREVIOUSLY AND THEY COULDN’T NOTE IT ON MY RECORDS BECAUSE IT WAS NOT A SERVICE CALL. THEY COULD NOT PLACE A SERVICE CALL BECAUSE OF DINGS UNLESS I WANTED TO REPLACE MY WINDSHIELD. I TOLD HIM TO RECHECK BECAUSE TWICE WHEN I WAS BEING GIVEN A RENTAL THEY HAD TO CHANGE MY RENTAL VEHICLE SINCE THE ONE THEY HAD ISSUED ME HAD A CRACKED WINDSHIELD. I WISH I HAD PUT MORE THOUGHT INTO THOSE BROKE WINDSHIELDS!

I CHECKED WITH THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ABOUT GETTING MINE REPLACED AND IT’S GOING TO COST ABOUT $1,000. LUCKY ME? HERE’S THE KICKER - BEFORE THEY WILL ORDER MY NEW WINDSHIELD I HAVE TO DRIVE OUT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND PAY FOR IT! AFTER ALL THE BUSINESS I HAVE GIVEN THEM AND THEY WON’T ORDER ME A DAMN WINDSHIELD? THEY WON’T NEED TO ORDER THE WINDSHIELD BECAUSE THEY WON’T BE INSTALLING IT! WHAT A JERK! I GUESS I WILL BE CALLING TOYOTA BACK AND COMPLAINING ABOUT THEIR DEALERSHIP.
