The contact owns a 2007 Cadillac Escalade. While driving various speeds, the vehicle's trunk opened independently. The vehicle was taken to pine belt Cadillac (71 NJ-37, toms river, NJ 08753) where it was diagnosed that the motor to the trunk lid needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact to call NHTSA. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000.
