CarComplaints.com Notes: The first year of the new Dodge Dart had a rough start, with owners reporting a disproportionate number of engine and transmission problems.

For transmission, the main complaints are transmission failure & rough shifting. So far, average mileage for transmission failure is 25,000 miles. Not good.

For engine problems, it usually starts with the engine light coming on for any number of reasons: bad sensors, ignition coil replacement, bad wiring, faulty gas cap ... dealers are replacing various components with varying degrees of success, or telling owners they can't duplicate the issue.

I asked dealer who said it's a control module and it would be approximately $1000 to fix... I guess I didn't want that option!

The u-connect will not work at all. It only says "please wait" I can't even get into the screen to add my daughters phone to it or erase any of the previous owners info from it! The dealership where she purchased the car from tells her ... "you bought it, it's yours."

We aren't going to put anymore money into it! She just bought the car on 5-29..today is 6-1..they won't fix it. don't you think the dealership should fix this? I do.

I am an older single woman, no one is ever in my car but me. I keep it serviced regularly and try to keep it in mint condition. In spite of this in the last year several things has started going wrong with my car.

1. The bluetooth stopped working. This is very important to me because I am on call 24/7.

2. The odometer has started blinking constantly

3. Just recently while driving down the highway the sunvisor on the passenger side just fell down. It is broke and I don't understand why. No one even sits over there.

There is a lot of things I really like about this car, but I feel like it's starting to fall apart on me.

The audio / bluetooth stopped working. Dodge will not fix it. There is a short somewhere in the system.

Update from Aug 20, 2017: I can' believe the problems I am having with my 2013 Dodge Dart. It is a piece of junk. First I had to replace my battery every year. The radio-cd-bluetooth quit. The odometer blinks. The buttons on the steering wheel don't work. When I took it in for an oil change they told me the oil pan leaks. I bought this car brand new in 2012 and have took very good care of it and it is falling apart. I think we all need to get together and file a class action suit to get these cars fixed.

I am so frustrated with my car I could scream. Out of the blue the bluetooth would not recognize what I was saying when I wanted it to dial a number in my cell phone. So after taking it to the Dodge dealership and spending $45.00 for them to look at it, they determined I needed a totally new radio component, because the bluetooth module is bad. They said in the past Dodge had modules that could be replaced individually, but they changed that and everything is in one component in the radio, so when one thing goes bad you need an entire new radio system. My car is only 3 years old! I think Dodge needs to recall the 2013 Dart because I have had numerous things go bad on my Dart that have never gone bad in any previous vehicle I have owned.
