The contact owns a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that both front seat belt retractors no longer functioned. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was advised that she would have to replace the retractors at her expense. In addition, the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign id number: 01V119000 (seat belts:front:retractor). The contact called the manufacturer who verified that the vehicle was not under recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The current and failure mileages were approximately 110,000. Updated 07/21/11 the consumer stated the seat belt could not be used, because they would not retract. The contact owns a 1999 Dodge Ram. The contact stated the driver and passenger side seat belts do not retract. The contact spoke with the manufacturer who advised they would repair the vehicle free of charge. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was advised that the vehicle would not be repaired due to the vehicle having previous owners. The contact spoke with the manufacturer and was advised to pay for the vehicle repair out of pocket due to the vehicle being previously owned. The current miles were 91,200. The failure miles were 91,000.
The contact owns a 1999 Dodge Ram which was purchased brand new in 1999. While the driver attempted to secure the seat belt into the buckle and it failed to lock in place. The dealer stated that the solenoid failed and needed to be replaced at a costs of $600. Although there was a recall for the failure for his make and model vehicle, his VIN was not included in the recall. NHTSA campaign id number 01V119000, seat belt retractor is directly related to the failure. No repairs had been made. The current and failure mileages were under 70,000. Updated 10/27/09 the seat belt on the drivers side was fully retracted and would not release. The consumer was quoted a price of $634 updated 10/28/09
Dash covering airbag's deteriorating, seatbelt doesn't rewind, seat back doesn't latch into a secure position. I wonder if the dash will explode on impact and will the shards of plastic cause further injury. During a sudden braking event will the seat back throw everybody in the vehicle into the dash if the seatbelts fail? no injuries yet. Can't afford all the repairs.
The contact owns a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500. The seat belt retractors will not release the seat belts on the driver and passenger sides. The mechanic advised the contact that the seat belt retractors were locked. However, the dealer refused to inspect the vehicle. The current and failure mileage were 145000.

The contact took the vehicle to the shop and they notified her of the recall on the retractor. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who stated that they were not aware of the recall and asked her to make an appointment. Updated 2/22/2007 - both front seat belt were locked in the retracted position and could not be used. The seat belt light is illuminated on the dash. The water pump has been replaced. The seat belts failed to come out of the retractor housing there was a related recall 01V119000, however the consumer's vehicle identification number was not included in the recall.
When truck was hit by a Bronco, Bronco travelng about 50 mph, on the passenger's front side, there was no deployment of the air bag. Also, the driver's or passenger's side seat belt did not lock causing injuries to driver and passenger.
Consumer took vehicle into dealership, and driver/ passenger seatbelts were working. She and her husband put on seatbelts, and the seatbelts wouldn't move at all on both sides. Seatbelts were stuck.
Seat belt would tighten whenever seat belt light would come on. Also, would not retract after vehicle was started. Vehicle been in dealer shop on four occasions, and problem could not be resolved.
Both driver's side and passenger side seatbelts would not come out enough to be buckled. After being repaired, the driver side seatbelt will not retract. Dlr has not seen vehicle.
