First, the battery went bad, then the u joints went bad, then the crankshaft case sensor went bad. 2 weeks after fixing all these problems the rear end goes out. Could not drive truck over 35mph without major clunking banging sound of worn gears. After 10 years of owning it had to sell it right at the time it was getting paid off. The truck was under recall that never happened. Started way back in January 2015. Had to sell it because could not afford to fix it. Now out looking for a new truck, a lot of fun that is. I'm one of the guys that got his credit ruined in the 2008 collapse. Without a co-signer, I have to pay 25 to 30% on the interest rate for a new vehicle, so that really sucks #$%^^*

My truck started this clunking noise in the rear last year. When the clunk/jolt happens I have very little acceleration. Sometimes starting at lights I have to shift into 2nd just to get the truck moving.

I do have the recall on the rear pinion nut and took the truck into a local dealer. They said it was safe to drive and would call me when the replacement parts came in. Needless to say; they have never called and it has gotten terribly worse.

I need my truck and have to drive it on a regular basis; but I'm scared something bad is going to happen.

I noticed under low speed (driving through a parking lot) a moderate knocking/clunking coming from the rear of the vehicle. It had no obvious affect on the drivability of the truck, but I'm fearful of the long term consequences. It sounds similar to a defective U-joint. I checked them, as well as where the driveshaft mates into the transmission and the pinion gear. Everything seems tight. Any help would be appreciated.
