This a 2011 year model SLT Yukon and talking with several GM mechanics it seems to be an ongoing problem with the brakes (squeaking, heat spots on the rotors) at 22,000 miles. All my miles have been highway driven. They told me that GM have soft rotors and do not last.
They recommended that I go off market and purchase new rotors and pads; what happened to GM QA/QC when designing the vehicle? I had to go to a tire shop type mechanic to repair this problem a cost of over $1,000. The GM service manager did not even offer to take a look at the problem, or give me price quote; this is why the country is purchasing imported vehicles this sucks. I will not recommend to any member of family or friends to purchase a GM Yukon in the future. I will go back to Toyota or the like for my next purchase.
