I waited on a recall for the brakes as I was aware of the investigation. However the so-called RECALL is to re-calibrate the brakes. I took it to a Certified GMC Dealer and of course I get the call that the Recall did not work with mine because it is indeed the Vacuum Pump. REALLY! Of course it is, that is why there should be a true recall on this. We pay well over $60,000 for vehicles these days and for something like this to happen is beyond ridiculous. This is my one Complaint for my YUKON and it is a Very Big Deal. I have three small children and keeping us safe is a priority and to want to charge over $600 for the part is horrible. I called another place and they will charge half the price and it will have a lifetime warranty on the part. I will have them replace it. Makes me want to trade it in for something non-GMC/Chevy.

We were in Gulf Shores, Alabama when this happened and none of the dealers in that area had the pump. So we had to drive the car home which added 650 miles to the car. GM refused to pay the cost since the car had 72260

miles on it. If they had the part in Gulf Shores it would have been covered under warranty. This is BS.

Update from Jun 19, 2023: Left rear brake light went out. I took it apart and there is no way to replace bulbs or fix it. I do not know what to do.

Yukon SLT V8

BRAKES BECOME HARD TO PRESS WHEN AT SLOWER THAN 5 MPH AND SOMETIMES DOESN'T WANT TO STOP. HAVE TO BE CAREFUL WHEN IN TRAFFIC AND PARKING. NEEDS TO BE FIXED AND WITH SO MANY COMPLAINTS YOU WOULD THINK THAT GMC WOULD RECALL THESE VEHICLES.

Yukon SLE 5.3L

Brake vacuum pump fully went out as I was backing my boat into the lake from a boat launch ramp. My Yukon XL would have gone into the lake had I not put back in forward gear and throttled forward and off the ramp.
