Took vehicle in to check the tire pressure monitor but was told ( by a very reputable mechanic) that the engine had low compression, that they would try a procedure that would "zap" the engine back into working mode. But after inspection, was told that as soon as we got it home we should park it and trade it in or sell it as soon as possible.

We had no problems with this car for 7 years and now it needs a new engine or someone who has the time and energy to mess with it. We are just about to pay it off and this is extremely disconcerting
