The contact owns a 2007 Hummer H3. The contact stated while driving 35 mph, the side air bags deployed without provocation. The driver suffered bruising. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where they informed it would take between twenty and thirty days to examine the vehicle. The failure was believed to be due to faulty side air bag sensors. The manufacturer was notified and stated they would send a representative to the dealer within the next twenty to thirty days to inspect the vehicle. The vehicle was repaired for routine maintenance two weeks prior to the failure. The contact also stated they were unsure whether the failure would be covered under warranty. The failure mileage was 98,000.

I was driving off-road in my 2007 Hummer H3 with a group of Hummer owners. Driving on a flat dirt road, approaching the paved road, the side impact air bags deployed for no reason. H3 was going aprox. 35 mph. I had my son with me in the front seat and he was hurt by the airbag. I've seen other reports of this happening with H3's and the issue should be corrected by GM. Either the sensor is defective or is set too sensitive for off-road driving. I'm thankful it didn't happen on a busy freeway or on a busy street. My H3 has been in at the GM dealer for 7 days and they are wanting my insurance to pay for the repairs. That means deductibles and rental car fees for me to fix an issue that should be corrected by GM.

My 2007 Hummer H3 was T-boned by a police cruiser (Mercury Grand Marquis I believe) that was doing 40+ mph. Neither my side airbags nor the front airbags of the cruiser deployed.
