It started one morning when I went to leave for work I turned the key and nothing so I tried again still the same so I called my local dealer and asked if a light with a car and lock was illuminated on the dash and it was. They proceeded to tell me that it was the pass lock system and to wait 10 mins for it to go out and try it so i did and it started ran fine the light was just still on. A week went by same thing this time after waiting the 10 mins it didn't start and I was told to replace my battery after installing the new battery it fired right up no problem light was even gone from the dash. Very next day went to leave at night for work nothing at this point I'm already $200 battery into it upset I left it sit and got a ride after work just for the hell of it I tried it and it fired up I did some research and talked to local shops they suggested I replace the lock assembly which has a plug on it that I guess reads the omns. I ordered one from the dealer and installed it relearned the system made sure the battery was good and charged though I was finally in the clear almost a month no problem. One day I was driving with my family to the mall and my car shut off on me driving down the highway I managed to get it off the road and tried starting it nothing but a bright pain in the ass light on the dash tried the 10 min trick it started and we headed home. Later that night I wanted to take it for a ride to see if this was going to be a reacurring issue and not even a mile from home it happened again but this time the steering locked when it shut off and put me into a ditch I was fine airbags didn't go off no body damage but broke a cv axle messed up my wheel bearing their was $500 and messed up my upper ball joint. Had everything but the ball joint replaced and after sitting from not being drivin it was starting every time and the light was gone so I started driving it again. Now feb it's starting again not shutting off just not starting from time to time. This is really bad and their are numerous reports of it dating back to older security lock issues. I think it's time someone other than the consumers should pay for it weather it be getting it fixed by dealer or by lawsuit this never should have slipped through the cracks
