Fuel gauge reading inaccurately. Gauge would not drop below approximately 3/4 tank even when the actual fuel level was significantly lower. This created a risk of running out of fuel unexpectedly due to false high readings.
Vehicle Info: 2012 Infiniti G25X Mileage: 189,000 miles
Symptoms:
* Fuel gauge stuck around 3/4 full * Gauge did not respond correctly as fuel was consumed * No related warning lights or codes present * Issue persisted across multiple drive cycles and refueling events
Cause: Fault traced to a cracked/cold solder joint on the A/C control board located in the center console (behind/near the radio/HVAC controls). The poor electrical connection caused incorrect signal output affecting the fuel level display.
Fix: Removed center console trim and accessed the A/C control board. Identified cracked solder joint and re-soldered the connection. After repair, fuel gauge operation returned to normal and accurately reflects fuel level.
