The contact owns a 2005 Jaguar S-type. The contact stated while having an inspection performed, the contact was informed of a leak in the evap system. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with needing part number: XR850468 (carbon canister assembly) to be replaced. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA campaign number: 06V418000 (fuel system, gasoline) however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact was informed that the vehicle owner was responsible for all repair costs. The failure mileage was approximately 62,000.
