Summary
"ISSUED MAY 2014: ISSUE DURING A RECENT MARKET VISIT IT WAS NOTED THAT A SIGNIFICANT NUMBER OF DEALERS HAVE BEEN CARRYING OUT PDIÂ’S AND THEN RETURNING THE VEHICLE TO A STORAGE COMPOUND WITHOUT REFITTING THE TRANSIT RELAY OR RETURNING THE VEHICLE TO TRANSIT MODE. TRANSIT MODE / TRANSIT RELAY ARE DESIGNED TO PROTECT THE CUSTOMERÂ’S BATTERY UP TO THE POINT OF DELIVERY. ALL VEHICLES IN STORAGE MUST HAVE THE TRANSIT RELAY IN PLACE OR BE IN TRANSIT MODE. ACTION: VEHICLES FITTED WITH A TRANSIT RELAY IF A NEW VEHICLE IS RETURNED TO A STORAGE COMPOUND FOLLOWING PDI THE TRANSIT RELAY MUST BE REFITTED TO THE VEHICLE. THE DEVICE MUST REMAIN ON THE VEHICLE UNTIL 72 HOURS PRIOR TO CUSTOMER DELIVERY. VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH TRANSIT MODE. IF A NEW VEHICLE IS RETURNED TO A STORAGE COMPOUND FOLLOWING A PDI IT MUST BE RETURNED TO TRANSIT MODE. THE VEHICLE MUST REMAIN IN TRANSIT MODE UNTIL 72 HOURS PRIOR TO CUSTOMER DELIVERY."
