The car has been babied and only has 33,000 miles. The oil is changed every 4 thousand miles and it is garaged. While on a nice ride this past fall, we came to a stop and the check engine light came on. Parked the car started looking into the issue. Found out that Jaguar knows of the issue, but never did anything about it.

Turns out the chain guide failed and the timing chain slipped, causing the engine to have bent valves.
