I am reporting this issue because after contacting Land Rover Headquarters and was told that they do not recognize this issue as a problem. To add to my complaint is the fact that a lawsuit was brought to the Tennessee District court for this very matter. There is an apparent defect on the windshield, mainly on the passenger side. I just confirmed that the windshield is slightly loose on the passenger side, which leads to water leakage. The vehicle is a 2017 Land Rover Discovery 5 (L462), this problem presents a clear danger as any accident that the car is involved in could lead the vehicle's airbag, on the passenger side, ejecting the windshield - not to mention what would occur on a rollover. I have tried to reach management at both the US and UK offices and they are not available from what I am told. I would mention that these vehicles are a danger and we are told that the brand sells quality. However, it appears to be quite the opposite. I provided a Service Action (N221) detailing the matter in question but they have excluded the 2017 Land Rover from this Service Action. I also attached the lawsuit brought in the courts of Tennessee which mentioned that windshield subpar seal, which causes water leakage. If there is a rollover on Land Rovers L462 years 2017 to present, the windshield will not perform as designed and people may day.

Front windshield has a leak for the second time. The first time it was replaced a year ago, and now the leak is in the top of the windshield frame causing water to leak onto the dash and also on to infotainment screen from the rear view mirror above. Loss and failure of electrical components is a real consternation in regard to this issue. Apparently this is an ongoing manufacturer production failure, with many complaints from owners of this vehicle across the internet. The service mgr. at the dealership informed me that I need to pay $650 to have the windshield replaced. I feel that this issue is the responsibility of Land Rover and has to be resolved with a recall. Please let me know if there is any help available in this regard. Thank you Jack Fromberg

There is a leak from the windshield. A lot of Landrover Discovery-€™s owners having the same issue and the manufacturer is not fixing it if the vehicle is not on warranty. I called my dealer in Orlando and they told me that I should take it to my insurance but it was not caused by an accident. It is a problem with most Discoveries from 2020 and under. Please help! Thanks!

I have a 2017 Land Rover Discovery with multiple episodes of significant water leakage problems due to a known windshield seal issue on the model as identified by the dealer. During the warranty the windshield and seal were replaced and would then fail twice, on the 2nd occurrence I instructed to the dealer to notate my account with concerns about electrical issues due to the amount of water that entered the dashboard, center console, and overhead electrical. Reviewing my own service records I can see electrical problems occurred on the vehicle with notes to "let it dry out". The final time this happened was just outside of manufacturer's warranty still within the CPO period, we were told it was no longer covered even though this has never been solved. Dealer stated they've never seen this much water come in, we have significant staining and electrical concerns for which LRNA show no concern or remorse. I am uncomfortable being put in a position to sell this car knowing what happened and the potential repair costs (10k+ for significant electrical work) plus the safety concerns of failure. My car has been at the dealer for almost 20 days now with no loaner and no activity on my case. I have spoken to my case worker only twice, once when I opened it and once when she finally answered one of my calls 10 days later. I call every day to ask for updates, the dealer reaches out on my behalf and still no progress has been made. No loaners have been offered, 10 days in I was told I would need to wait another 10 days, plus the dealer indicated at least 3 days to order the windshield (at least 23 days total at the dealership). I believe water entering a vehicle like it did and coming into contact with electrical systems poses a significant threat to the operability and safety of the vehicle with LRNA showing no regard for the situation, happily letting myself or someone else get "stuck" with this problem and the potential failure assocaited with it.

Your website does not recognize the existence of a 2017 Discovery. Instead it lists only Discovery sport, and entirely different vehicle with an entirely different engine and other components. Therefore, I cannot trust your listing of recalls, etc. Please look into this and correct both the search function and the results page to show correct info.

I was driving on main road at the speed limit (45 mph). I had slowed down as I observed a car pulling out ahead of me onto the road. As I gave my vehicle gas in order to get back up to speed, I felt a pause in the engine and then the car completely lost power- the engine stopped, the red battery icon appeared on the dash, and message appeared on the screen with the heading "special program suspended" or something to that effect-- I had no time to read that message as I had to steer my car as far to the right as I was able to. I tried to restart the vehicle, it would not start and the message disappeared-- I had no chance to read it as I was on a busy and heavy traveled road and had to ensure I was safely pulled over. Unknown at this time as to what caused this malfunction. This created an unsafe condition as the car lost power with no forewarning. I am lucky that it did not happen on the highway on which I travel most of the time. I contacted Land Rover roadside assistance and the car was put on a flatbed and brought to the dealer.

Vehicle has severe defects relating to the climate control functions. 1) in hot weather, it cannot cool down the car, 2) due to having to keep the climate at lo/max, I am getting 9-10 mpg (16 city is stated), 3) independent climate control functions do not work, 4) no ventilation in 2/3 of car.

The 2017 Discovery has been designed with only 4 air vents in the front dash and 2 very weak air vents in the 2nd row. This is a 3 row passenger vehicle with no vents in the 3rd row. The car is missing at least 4 vents and is creating a safety hazard in hot and cold environments. I cannot have passengers or animals in the rear of the car due to the lack of ventilation in the vehicle. In addition, due to attempting to cool the car down, running the car with max ac is giving me only 9-10 mpg. Car is advertised as 16 mpg city. This is a blatant design and safety issue for climate control and false mpg standards.
