This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
My parents are [XXX]. They were coming home from there doctors appointment on [XXX] and traveling about 50 MPH heading home and all the sudden my father tried to press on the brakes to slow down and there was no brakes at all. He could not stop the vehicle and the ONLY thing that saved his and my moms life was the fact that the 2018 Land Rover discovery sport SE came to a hill and immediately as soon as the vehicle came up the hill my father turned the wheel to the right and the vehicle stopped after hitting one of those parking lot cement blocks right in front of a mechanic shop. When my parents got out of the vehicle they were so shook and scared for their life. A mechanic came out to ask if they were ok and they explained to the mechanic what had happened. The mechanic then, pushed the vehicle inside the garage and put it up on a lift and diagnosed it and then told my parents that the brake lines had blown and that it was unusual and that this was a manufacture problem and Land Rover needed to be contacted or for us to go online under this website and file a complaint. We may have to retain an attorney because my parents only bought this vehicle less then a year ago and already almost lost both of their lives due to the brakes going out and brake lines bursting. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The vehicle has a terrible delay when accelerating from a rolling stop between 8-11 mph. If you try to accelerate and the vehicle is at this speed, the delay is about 2-3 seconds before the transmission gets it into gear.
