- Summary
- A customer may be unable to select a transmission gear and/or start the engine. A 'Gearbox fault' message may also be displayed on the Instrument Cluster (IC). Switching the ignition 'OFF' and then 'ON' clears the fault. Upon further diagnosis, a Technician may find Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U0402-09 stored in the Transmission Control Switch (TCS). DTCs U0402-00 (stored in the Powertrain Control Module [PCM]) and/or U0404-64 (stored in the Transmission Control Module [TCM]) may also be found.
