Our Lexus ES 350, leased in January, 2007 has a potentially serious problem. The passenger airbag is not on consistently when the passenger seat is occupied. I have reported this to the dealer on three occasions but the problem persists. After the last visit and after finding the system was working as designed it was suggested I add exercise weights to the seat.
Passenger airbag not working properly and turns "off" when my wife sits in the seat while car is in operation. My wife weighs under 110 lbs. It has been reported to the dealership and they have not been able to fix to date. I am very concerned for the safety of my wife.
The contact owns a 2007 Lexus ES350. She stated that the passenger side air bag light remained off which indicated that the air bag was off. When people who were bigger in size were in the passenger seat the airbag warning light would illuminate. The failure mileage was 500 and the current mileage was 6,000. Updated 02-01-08.
