Hi!

The Lexus Tustin, CA dealership acknowledged that there is melting dash problem, and they send my case to Lexus US for free repair under recall. They said recall has ended and dashboard can't be replaced now.

I am asked to pay $1600 for this repair which was getting fixed under recall free.

The dashboard of my 2008 Lexus ES 350 is sticky and melting. Today (July 17, 2021), I just learned from the dealership that there was a lawsuit for Toyota/Lexus to resolve this problem by replacing the dashboards. Apparently, the resolution time expired on May 30, 2017. Like many of Lexus' customers, I did not receive a notice that Lexus was replacing the dashboards.

I want to rally all Lexus owners to join me in a subsequent Class Action Lawsuit against Lexus if you own one of the following models (these models were covered in the previous lawsuit: 2003-2008 Lexus ES 350, 2003-2008 Lexus GX 470, 2006-2008 Lexus IS 250/350, 2007 Lexus LS 460, 2004-2006 Lexus RX 330, 2007-2009 Lexus RX 350, and 2005-2008 Lexus RX 400h. We deserve to have our dashboards repaired FREE of charge. It is insidious for Lexus to acknowledge a problem exists and then put an expiration date on when it can be repaired or replaced. Corporate will not support us, so we must rally using the legal system. If anyone is interested, please email me at tmack8873@gmail.com.

Also, if you know of any law firms that work on class action suites, please pass on their information. We will get our fair compensation if we rally together. - Teri Jones

melting dashboard melting dashboard

I just found out recently that my lexus ES 350 2008 dashboard get sticky. So I google and found out that there is a lawsuit against Lexus in regard to the sticky dashboard, melt and crack. So I contacted Lexus corp and was informed that the warranty expired in May 2017, I told them I was not aware or received letter in regard to this. They told me they sent two letter in Jan 2015 and June 2015 informed me about this issue. I brought in to my dealer and it was told that there is nothing that they can do. I told them I was a loyalty customer been there for the last ten years when I purchased the car there, they should have informed me but they stated that this is not their responsibility since it was not a recall.

I called Lexus Corp and the issue was escalated to case manager Burk, Supervisor Jennifer and then Scott from the Executive Team and they refuse to do anything for me since the warranty has expired. I told them I feel like Lexus does not stand behind their product. Scott from the Executive team told me that when they sent out the letter it does not mean that all car was defect only a few, but I told him my vehicle was part of it. He said he sorry he will not do anything and he represent on behalf of the Lexus Corp team to say no to me.

I'm very frustrated as it will cost me $2500 for replace this. I think Lexus is a big corp should have stand behind their product but not walking away from it. Thank you.

Lexus issued a recall on the "melting" dashboard. I took my vehicle to the dealer, which is located nearly 90 miles away to have my car evaluated for the recall. Why I needed to qualify for the recall is beyond me as my car make and model was part of the recall, In addition I live in Zone A ( Florida). Since taking my car in to have the photos taken I have been calling bi-monthly to find out when the dashboards were coming in. I was told Lexus was committed to having all cars fixed by the end of 2017.

I called on 1/10/18 to follow up again and was told at that time there was a problem. They had no record of me coming in to qualify for the claim. They had no photos or any other record. I was livid. How could they just now realize this when I have been calling bi-monthly to inquire. Further more, I was there a few moths ago to have the air bag recall addressed. Upon which time they had to remove the entire gross dashboard to fix the air bags so it is not as though they were not aware of the dashboard issue. They added more scraps to the dashboard when fixing the air bags and did some other damage. I was told not to worry about it as it would all be addressed when they installed the new dashboard. I am entitled to having my dashboard fixed and Lexus of Mobile is refusing to correct the issue.
