This concerns my 2010 Lexus ES 350, acquired new on Nov. 30, 2009. ON1/23/10 I found the driver floor mat loose. Underneath were the two light plastic clips, one of which (the one on the gas-pedal side) was out of its socket on the floor and was lying free on the floor. With considerable difficulty I was able to re-insert the flimsy flanges of the loose clip into its socket and then to secure the mat to both clips. Other than a vacuuming by the attendant in a car-wash establishment 1/16/10 nothing had been done to the mat since the acquisition of the car. There was no adverse consequence of this equipment failure, but my concern is: Lexus crashes have been attributed to loose floor mats jamming the gas pedal. It appears that the mat still comes loose without any incorrect action on the part of the driver.
