I noticed a black spot in my rear view mirror one day and did not think anything of it, however the one spot turned into multiple streaks. It's getting harder to see out of the mirror which to me is a safety issue. I noticed that there are many complaints on this issue and there should be a recall on this defect as well. I have to make an appointment for the recalls on the melting dashboard and doors and engine. Lexus should really take care of this problem. I have purchased several new vehicles however I have had more problems with this car than I did with my other cars.

The check engine, check vsc light would intermittently come on when I turned on my car and sometimes while driving. This has happened since I purchased my car in 2006. I brought my car in for the recall but they couldn't make the light come on when they hooked up their computers to the computers in my car. I recently brought my car to another dealership to perform the recall of the dashboard and side panels and the problem finally happened while they had the car in their possession. They tested it and said this problem would have been covered by a recall had it not expired. They said the reason is that carbon buildup in the first, third, and fifth cylinders are causing this problem. Why didn't they discover this when I took my car in for that recall the first time" because it didn't exhibit the problem at the time doesn't mean it didn't have the issue. Now they said they cannot fix it because the recall expired?! how is that fair or safe?!?!?!"

My Is 250 had a recall/tsb for a severe engine problem that involved rebuilding the entire engine. They performed this in 2013. Barely 1 year later I experienced the same problem, I brought it back to the dealer and was told they could not replicate the issue. 2 weeks ago the problem happened again so I brought it back to the dealer, now they inform me the car needs a new engine and is going to cost over 4000 dollars for a fix they did not perform correctly the first time.

Extremely disappointed by a couple of issues Lexus refuses to fix. I bought this car with 84K on the odometer and less than a year after that all these problems arise. The steering Is safety issue that needs to be replaced asap. Driving anything over 50 mph the steering starts to become notchy at the center and at times difficult to keep in a straight line. The steering wheel whines as I turn almost as if something Is about to break. Lexus quoted me $3000 to replace the electric power steering which Is absolutely ridiculous. I would love to replace it but $3000 dollars on a part that shouldn't have broken anytime soon Is very disappointing. Then to make matters worse there Is a known engine leak. The timing chain cover leaks oil and the dealer quoted me $5000 dollars to fix it. That Is $8000 dollars worth of repairs for two problems that Lexus needs to recognize. This doesn't include the other very common problems such as the navigation screen melting in the summer time so that it Is inoperable. Now the dashboard becomes sticky and shiny making it hard to see in the daytime and it chips so easily. Im extremely disappointed due to the fact that Lexus usually makes solid vehicles. Many other owners are facing the same issues and they need to be recognized.

My vehicle stalled at a red light and would not restart. After being towed to the dealer, they came back with a diagnosis of massive carbon build up. They advised that I reach out to Lexus corporate to determine if there was any support I could receive. After several weeks of going back and forth, Lexus corporate refused to provide any assistance because the car could not produce any of the necessary trouble codes to qualify for their customer support program surrounding this issue. After much hesitation, I agreed to pay $700 to have the top cleaning done. After top cleaning was complete, the dealer calls to report that the car still wouldn't start and they didn't know what was causing the issue. Now they have an "expert mechanic" from Lexus corporate coming out to inspect the vehicle and determine the problem. This took another 1 1/2 to 2 weeks to complete. I received a phone call from Lexus Corp, that the issue was now a timing chain that was going to be $1200 to replace. When I spoke with the dealer, they agreed to credit back my $700 from the misdiagnosis but quoted that the timing chain would be $1700, not $1200. After several days of haggling, I finally agreed to pay $1350, only to get another call from the dealer now saying that metal shavings have fallen down into the engine block and the entire engine would need to be replaced. Although I have all of my service records, Lexus Is trying to pin the blame on me, stating "lack of oil changes". my vehicle's year, model and date of service are all qualified to be covered under this warranty. This car has proven to experience these problems associated with this recall and because the engine Is in such bad shape and Is unable to produce any codes, they are refusing to honor this warranty. This has now been going on for nearly 3 months and I still have no car and no resolution in site.

About 06/04/2014 while I am driving the highway as I usually do on my way to work and had made my way to the left lane. I am in rush hour traffic when all of a sudden my car started to loose compression, temp. Creazy it started to slow down to about 25 miles (while on a main highway) and a check engine light came on and the vcs notification started flashing. I immediately made my way to the shoulder on the right side of the highway to look-up the problem and did not show any thing wroung I decide to take it to longo Lexus dealer immediately after I called the service advisor he said it is commen problem for early 2006 Is 250 and he said " will take care it for you under Lexus warranty" and he mension about bad ceel rings in the engine, after one day waiting, the Lexus dealer determined that my 2006 Lexus Is 250 needed: Valve springs, valve lash adjuster, updated pistons and rings and possibly a short block. Yes the engine was bad. But the bad news that they don"T cover because he said the car over heat!!!!!! I try to explane to him that never over heat only because that problem happened made the car heat temp. Going up and down like creazy and when I open the engine I feel no heat coming up. I think it is fair that Lexus cover all the repair for my 2006 Lexus Is 250 becuse I read a lot of complaints with NHTSA had the same exactly my problem and also I see one add in craiglist the seller said that his car had same my problem and been take caed by Lexus mission vjio ca. I always take care me car as baby always maintaine and I need Lexus to fix thier bad manefacur parts in my engine.

Vehicle randomly shakes, intermittently runs rough while braking. Dealer could not diagnose issue 3 times until recent check found engine pistons and valve springs need to be replaced. Lexus agreed to accommodate service and labor costs but parts are back ordered requiring a week or two wait time for repair.

I took my vehicle in to a Lexus dealership on March 15, 2013 because the engine has powered down while driving & the check engine and vsc indicators came on simultaneously, the car is also idling hard. I had the vehicle inspected and it was found to misfire by the technicians at the dealership. I was told that this is a massive recall and that my parts will not come in for eight months. I am afraid to drive my vehicle which is why I brought it to the dealership and do not understand why the company will not loan me a vehicle while this manufacturing defect is corrected.
