Wiring harness defect renders SRS/seatbelt pretension system inoperable. Lexus refuses to replace wiring harness without charging $3,000. The issue is listed under a tsb by Lexus and was known to them.

The contact owns a 2006 Lexus Is 250. While driving approximately 40 mph, the seat belt strap slipped out of the buckle. The contact stated that the failure occurred for approximately two months. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 131,059.
