Electrical system malfunction began (to my best calculation & recollection) in summer 2021 with the first of four battery malfunctions in one year. Each time, AAA discovered low battery response and recommended battery replacement. This time around, battery was replaced about two weeks prior, due to battery failure/AAA reporting would not accept charge. THE NEW BATTERY FAILED (8/3) and the starter broke while attempting to charge. Mechanic repaired starter and battery accepted the charge. No problem, right? Wrong. This driver drove about 30 miles and while driving, the electrical system shut down altogether. With I believe ALL WARNING LIGHTS LIGHTING UP, extremely dangerous situation. NO BREAKING, NO STEERING, NO WARNING. Fortunately, it occurred in a suburban residential area as opposed to the highway. SECOND tow to my mechanic and now, after a full week, no diagnosis, though the car has been running in the shop. This is an intermittent problem. I suspect the alternator.

Dear all I bought this car in 2016. It was imported from USA to UAE now registered in Abu Dhabi. The car completely stalled while stopping at inclined position for about 10 minutes in front of a security barrier. READY lasts for less than 5 seconds and disappear. The car could not be started again for three month. Local dealer [XXX] Indicated they are not handling imported vehicles except from GCC region. A local repair company identified the problem by error code P0A78 but told the repair cost will be heavy. What could I do with my car which still under recall in USA for repair of the same INVERTER problem? Appreciating your help. Best regards [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

Water gets into the body of the vehicle over time. Came outside one day after rain and my passenger carpet was SOAKED all my windows were up and my complex don-€™t get flooded. Car smells like mildew in cabin! Middle of July I came outside and all the lights were on the dash, no rain the previous day or during, and car wouldn-€™t start. Took it to the dealership and they can-€™t explain how water got into my car but magically the sunroof drain was clogged with water.

"check vsc" system with accompanying continuous beep noise, brakes become hard to push/activate. This started a few weeks ago, and would happen intermittently, and progressively longer in the dysfunctional brakes phase. I had an employee at auto zone clear the code 2 days ago, but the problem started again, intermittently upon vehicle start, but would go away shortly, with normally responsive brakes. This intermittent issue occurs when I am driving, therefore this is a serious road hazard as my brakes become significantly less responsive when the problem occurs. In other words, this occurs when stationary and when driving, intermittently.

Rear caliper blew while driving - almost lost brakes on highway - vehicle was unsafe to drive. Ignition coils failed (twice) while driving - lost power - almost got hit by a truck steering fluid leak - dealer says to get entire steering replaced or may lose steering while driving!! all this started at a mere 42,891 miles - and we narrowly averted possible accidents at high speed!

Hello, I own a 2007 Lexus 400H. On Aug 11, 2015 approximately 10pm the vehicle was traveling on hwy 17 South in myrtle beach SC. The vehicle was sitting at a green light in the turning waiting for on coming traffic. When the traffic cleared my wife proceed to proceed froward with the turn. Once she started her decent the vehicle started blowing coolant out of the front of the vehicle and from the bottom. The vehicle stopped responding leaving her in the middle of the turn. I have looked up online that Lexus recalled 2006 and 2007 Lexus Rx400H vehicles. When I called to talk with them about it they told me that mine was not included. This issues is the same issue that they describe on their website. I am very disappointed in Lexus.

The rear lift gate handle is melted and gooey. When I touch it to open the rear door, I get this gooey tar-like substance on my fingers. My dealer told me it requires a complete replacement of the door's electrical components to fix. Seems unusual that this is electrical, but if it is, then something is generating an unusual amount of heat to melt the rubber cover. My car is black, but it is stored in a garage...and the handle is covered and out of the sun.

The black molding on part# 84840G 8484021010 - switch assembly back door opener is extremely soft and sticky. Every time we put our hands on it to manually open the rear lift, black sticky substances get on the fingers, which are used to open it. That part is shielded somewhat by the body. It was sticky even during cold months here in Kansas and is sticky as well during this spring and beginning of summer. My concern is something is getting hot from that electrical piece that may cause further damage and hopefully not, but possible fire. Thanking in advance.

The exterior lift gate button has become a black sticky gooey mess. It is concerning that an electrical issue could be melting the black rubber button. Found many other cases of this with Lexus and Toyota sienna's online. Has something been done about this occurrence?

I have been trying to have Lexus woodland hills fix my 2007 rx 400H regarding an issue with my alarm. My alarm goes off randomly. I happened to find out about it when a class I was attending announced over the loud speaker that a gold Lexus SUV had its alarm going off. I went out, reset it, and went back to class. When they got me out a second time about a half an hour later, I just left the car unlocked since I was in a safe, secured lot. Since I am not usually around my car at the store, mall, etc, I have no idea how many other times it went off until I was at a funeral in simi valley. While we were leaving, someone notified me that the alarm was going on & off for an hour! I took it to woodland hills Lexus where they supposedly corrected the issue. In June 2011, it went off yet againwhile I walked with a friend in a gated, secure community on a cul-du-sac with no traffic. My friend told me later that her neighbor came over to complain about the car alarm going off again and again. Took it to wh Lexus for service again. Last time was when I was at a friends house and parked in her driveway. After about 30 minutes or so, I hear the alarm go off. I turned it off but not before her distraught neighbor came over and screamed at me asking me to move my car. Wh Lexus has had my car since July. Can't figure out what the problem is and they are having trouble getting the warranty coverage (sold by Lexus) to kick in. It is a safety issue because they want to disconnect my alarm - which is absolutely not an acceptable answer.

Rear hatch handle/opener has completely melted. It started a few months ago, it was just a little sticky at first, then the black rubber started coming off on my fingers when I opened the hatch manually. The dealer told me that there is a service advisory out about this and that it is only happening in Florida. This is an electrical and a safety issue.

The contact owns a 2007 Lexus RX400 hybrid. The contact stated that the vehicle would stall after engine start up. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where they advised the contact that the failure could possibly have been caused by a battery failure. The battery was replaced but the failure recurred a few weeks later. The vehicle was towed to the dealer a second time where the battery was replaced again. The manufacturer was contacted the contact inquired about NHTSA campaign id number: 11V342000 (electrical system) but was advised that because the dealer advised that the battery was the cause of the failure, they would not repair the vehicle under the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 58,000.
