coil pack melts from bad pcm
My 2008 Lincoln MKX had a bang when I pulled out of a parking space, I got out of the car since I thought I had run over something.. When I went to Autozone they tested it and said it was the coil pack so I replaced #4 coil pack $72. I drove to another Autozone as I was between doctor appointments and the #4 coil pack had melted again. The employee exchanged the coil pack and suggested I change the plugs. So I replaced the front 3 spark plugs in the parking lot. won't you know it immediately started misfiring again. I read some articles on the Internet and I read that Ford/Lincoln knew all about this problem, and it was covered under the emissions 80,000 mile warranty, so I'm out of warranty so I'm upset that they knew about this for years and didn't fix it. Some members mentioned a lawyer but never said the outcome. This forum post was from 2012.
