Nearly a year after the initial recall notice, Mazda has not been able to supply the parts to fix recall #20V-063. They send postcards and emails monthly, indicating that I have not yet brought the vehicle in for service. This is untrue, I have tried multiple times to have the defect corrected only to be told parts are not available. Are they complying with their obligations under this recall? I can't help but think they are not being truthful about their failure to provide the required parts.

Recently, the passenger's side headlight failed to operate as needed. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 24,250. Parts distribution disconnect.

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while his daughter was turning into the driveway, he noticed that the headlights were not illuminated. The vehicle was taken to ramsey auto center (9625 hickman rd, urbandale, ia 50322) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the daytime running light failed and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure however, no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

I have tried since Feb 2020 to get my #20V-063 headlight replacement per the recall issued and the fitgerald Mazda in annapolis md told me since then that they couldn't get the parts from Mazda. I tried to book an appointment again to have this fixed on 11/11/20 - an appointment they accepted only to be told once I got there after the inspection that they do not have the parts and cannot get the parts from Mazda. I was one of the initial customers to report this issue and received a new headlight assembly for the driver's side replacement and not six months later, the other side went out. I understand covid limitations but Mazda needs to provide the parts to comply with this recall correct?

The contact called sheehy hagerstown (10310 auto pl, hagerstown, md 21740, (301) 739-7700) and was informed that the failure was not covered under NHTSA campaign number: 20V063000 (exterior lighting). The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 70,000.

Active recall for day time running lights is not able to be fixed due to Mazda claiming they do not have enough parts to rectify the issue. The consumer stated the air bag was failing. The manufacturer was notified, but did not offer any assistance. The consumer has the vehicle in germany, but was informed it could only be repaired in the United States.

Called in September and was told I would get a letter within next month and that parts were still not available. Still no contact from Mazda as of October 15. Somehow they keep manufacturing cars but can't get around to manufacturing recall parts.

I received a safety recall notice in March 2020 regarding led daytime running lights. I contacted the Mazda dealership where I purchased my vehicle and took my vehicle in to be serviced July 13, 2020. At this time, I was told by Mazda that the part necessary for the repair was on backorder, and would be received in approximately three weeks. I called to follow up on this in late August. I was told by the Mazda service department that the part was on backorder with no eta on its availability. I have not experienced any problem while driving, but I am filing this complaint because my recall notice stated that I should report if "Mazda does not repair the defect within a reasonable amount of time." I live in the state of Hawaii and vehicles are required to have an annual safety inspection completed. Due to the recall and defect of my headlights, my vehicle is unable to pass the safety inspection. My safety inspection was due to be completed in June 2020. My vehicle is now out of compliance with the state. I will be unable to pass the safety inspection until Mazda replaces and repairs the recalled item.

Mazda issued a recall in March 2020 for the daytime running lights on this car, the parts required to remedy this situation are backordered, and have been backordered since March. As of today, Mazda is stating that the parts will not be available for 4-5 months! daytime running lights are required to pass the annual virginiastate auto inspection. My inspection is due this month, and Mazda has effectively rendered my vehicle illegal to operate in the state of Virginia!

The daytime running lights have stopped working on both head lights. The cost for fixing the head lights is $1300 a piece. The dealer won't warranty this repair and said it wasn't a safety issue. The head lights are the ones that self level and turn when the car turns.

The drl on the passenger side flicked then failed around 12K mile in April 2018. Not long after that, the drl on the driver side flicked then failed around 16K mile sometime in 2019. The vehicle mileage right now is only about 20K miles !! ( we are retirees and have 2 vehicles)

Driver side headlight day time led light flickers and it has half of the intensity compared with the other headlight if driven or stationary. This condition started to become noticeable two months ago and it is getting worse and close to the point that the dtl led is not visible anymore and the entire headlight unit must be replaced. Mazda knows about the condition and claims that this is not a safety issue and refuses to replace it.

One daytime running light is now flickering. It is not serviceable and the entire headlight capsule must be replaced at about $1300 per side. I am sure the other one will fail soon also! car has 61000 miles and is 4 years old. As drl`S are oem, it must be fixed to pass nys inspection. Of course it is also a proven safety feature!

My 2016 Cx-5 GT is now out of warranty based on model year, although it only has 21000 miles on it. I have the same problem as almost every other owner of this make and model, which is that the led daytime running lights on one side (so far) have stopped working. Led's do not burn out in just a few years, so the problem is in the wiring inside the headlight assembly. It is an obvious manufacturing defect that Mazda will not acknowledge. Repair cost can be $1200 to $1500 per headlight to the owner.
