Check engine light came on the night before. The next morning my wife went to run an errand before going to check the car out at the dealership, but she only got about 13 miles when the engine blew out and started smoking. The vehicle had approx 56K miles and the engine should have been covered under warranty, but the dealership states that it was not covered anymore because we ran the vehicle that morning with the check engine light on. The dealership stated that the engine was completely blown and that it overheated. They state that there was no coolant in it. There was no prior leak in the coolant, and the coolant was checked and refilled only 2 weeks prior. We would have noticed a coolant leak on our driveway.

The contact owns a 2007 Mazda Mazda5. While parked, the contact noticed the air bag light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for a diagnostic. The technician stated that the front driver's side air bag would have to be replaced. Approximately three weeks after the air bag warning light illuminated, the engine warning light illuminated. The contact had not experienced a failure. The warning lights illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 62,000.
