Of course, despite this being a Ford engine, the water pump was modified by Mazda, and apparently, either they used cheap parts or there is a design flaw. Could have left me stranded on the highway the day before, luckily it failed after getting home - but if you lose the water pump, you are hosed - luckily I was close to home - and again - you have to wait a few days to get the repair b/c it's a non inventory Mazda part from most part stores.
