I was taking my wife to work after driving for almost twenty five minutes I and rattling noise on the engine.The car was also overheating when I poured water into the radiator lots of steam emanated form the radiator.
Wife noticed rattling noise coming from engine. Got worse this morning on her way home from work, so she stopped at the only mechanic we feel we can trust. After diagnostic they dropped the oil pan. Main bearing spun, and damaged the crank. Recommended a new engine...to the tune of $4-5k!
Just called Mazda customer service to voice my displeasure with having to drop thousands of dollars on a new engine for a vehicle with 72k miles on it- they could care less. I've learned my lesson: I'll push this one out in the pasture, send some rounds down-range into it and call it good. Never imagined when we bought our first Mazda that it'd only be good for 72k miles!
I'm sure it'll make a good boat anchor though!..................
