I have a 2006 Mazda 6 with a VIN in the recall range, except I live in Michigan so it is not recalled. My inflator will continue to degrade, at a slower rate than those in high humid areas, but it will eventually get to the point where it will have taken in enough moisture to disassemble when deployed. I want this taken care of before it blows up. The supplier has demonstrated an unwillingness to acknowledge it has a problem. No one seems to be concerned that a supplemental safety device can do more harm than good. Ask those involved in the industry and you will get a common response that "death" is not an acceptable failure effect. There is probably a pretty [xxx] good reason no other airbag inflator manufacturer uses ammonium nitrate in their propellant formulations. Inflators leak. Always do and always will. You cannot keep the moisture out indefinately. And I definately do not want to wait until more innocents are killed or maimed by these devices before mine too is recalled. Air conditioner never works properly on drivers side since new. Dealer claims it's not a problem but driver vent and left middle vent always blow warm when air is on. Making car unbearable to drive in heat also car does not cool off properly in summer.
