I will go back and list the other (4) times I've had this exact electrical issue on my 2009 C300 since 2010. This time, like the past 4 times, get in the car and nothing, won't start, turn over. The only thing that happens is the interior lights and panel lights come on. Other times I couldn't even unlock my door. I just bought my 3rd battery since 2010 last week, that seems to fix the problem for a couple of years, or has in the past, but this time that's not even working. My car ran fine after the new battery. Then 5 days later, big fat nothing.

So freakin pissed, if you look at the 2008 and 2009 models, they are the worst. There is an electrical problem and there should be a recall Mercedes! Yep, already had the tail light issue and got it fixed, just got a recall on my airbags, and that sensor has also come one, and went off 2 months later. Guess I'll have that looked at too while it's in the shop.

Common and known issue with EIS/ELS/Steering Column. An expensive, possibly dangerous problem that has not been recognized by Mercedes-Benz it appears from the other comments on this forum and others. My C300 was running fine. Stopped to grab lunch. Car would not start, yet the lights, radio, panel all worked with exception to "Remove Key from Ignition"message. Thought it could be the battery. Had to have car towed to 2 different places, the last of which was the MBenz dealership over an hour away. This occurred at 80K miles on odometer. A major safety, possibly dangerous situation. I thought the MB brand was about reliability, quality, safety. So disappointed.

Why has this component issue not covered under a recall?
